4WD Conversion

The decision to do this upgrade is a no-brainer, but naturally it only applies if you have a 2WD Wheely King. The front axle housing on a 2WD WK is empty, but the housing itself is the exact same as the one found out back. The HPI 4WD Conversion Kit includes all the parts required (bearings, gears, axles, shims, o-rings, assembled diff, etc.) to make the front end share the duties of moving the truck around, as well as clear instructions. Thus, rather than go through it all here, just buy the HPI #XXXXX for $XX or so and follow the included instructions.

  • Difficulty: A little complex but not difficult as long as you follow the instructions
  • Pros: 4WD! 2WD is fine for just beating around, but 4WD is where it's at
  • Cons: None
  • Cost: $XX
  • Additional Tip: If you're considering locking your diffs, do it while converting to 4WD so you don't have to go through this entire procedure again
